Everything about this home is perfect. The location is as close to the park entrance as you can get, there are beautiful sunsets and sunrises on the bridge just steps away, and close proximity to food and gift shops right across the street. Most importantly, Caitlin has thought about every detail that you will need on your trip and more. The amenities provided are extremely generous and high end. River Haus was the perfect location to access Glacier! We drove to East Glacier to hike Grinnell Glacier and were able to be first in line on Going to the Sun Rd when it opened at 6am to get there before 8 and get parking for the hike because of the ease & proximity to the entrance. The same was true to get to Logan’s Pass early enough for parking.
On our off day, we walked across the bridge to the trail that leads to Apgar. Bicycles are provided that would also be great for this short trail.
Other reviews speak of the perfect blend of aesthetics & products of the home, which we concur. Just before arriving, our son & dil told us they were expecting. After returning from a hike, we were greeted with prosecco and the sweetest note congratulating us. It is the attention to detail and creating a truly welcoming space that makes this such a great place.
We chose to grill out most nights and enjoy the cool evenings by a fire. It was the perfect end to long days on the trails. Our trip to Glacier would not have been the same without this sanctuary.

This is the second year that our family has stayed at the River Haus.
Caitlyn is a wonderful host. She always has the house spotlessly clean and waiting for visitors. The moment you walk in, one can see the care that has been taken to ensure a nice visit.
This year, there were some nice changes and additions to the River Haus! There was a nice cooler available just in case we wanted to have beverages on the upper deck or out on the beach. And Caitlyn had a list of other upgrades to ensure an even nicer visit!
There was also the addition of a nice rooftop deck! This is a great space to watch the river on the back side of the house or the activities in West Glacier Village on the front side of the house.
They even updated the water heater so everyone had plenty of water for hot showers.
The kitchen is nicely equipped with everything needed and it is all neatly arranged. Cooking in the kitchen is a joy as one can look out the large window and watch the early morning sunrise along the river that is just visible between the trees. The dining room and living room also have large windows with scenic views!
The backyard grill is always ready for cooking evening dinners. There is a nice gathering place in the backyard as well as an open space for playing games or just letting little ones run around.
The River Haus has a warm and welcoming feel that takes one back in time. The decor is reminiscent of the 1950s or ’60s with a modern flair.
The location could not be better! Access to the park entrance is just across the bridge. And there is a local market across the street along with shops, and activities.
Caitlyn is proactive and keeps us up to date with any reservations that are needed to get into Glacier Park. Caitlyn was also helpful in suggesting various hikes and trails in different areas of the park.
We’ve stayed at East Glacier Lodge, St. Mary’s Lodge, the Prince of Wales Hotel, and other resorts in the Glacier Park area over the years. The River Haus is our favorite and we will be back!

We stayed at this house before and after our wedding in West Glacier. The location is perfect – just outside the entrance of the park. The view of and access to the river is a nice added benefit. The house is very near the road but the fencing and landscaping makes the space feel very private. No noise issues our entire stay. Even the train horn is faint.
Beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked.
This stay is an investment in your experience at Glacier and we think it’s worth it.

The River Haus is an amazing AirBNB experience! The location so close to Glacier and on the bank of the Flathead River is unparalleled. The house is impeccably designed (in the colors of the natural environment) with luxury linens, a well-stocked kitchen and high-end bath products. Best experience I’ve had with a vacation rental! The house itself is beautiful and incredibly well stocked. Caitlin is a gracious hostess with a quick response time to any questions. They have gone above and beyond to make sure that your vacation time is spent vacationing – not running around collecting supplies you may need. (Firewood, cooler, travel mugs, shampoo/conditioner/coffee/baggies/laundry detergent and more supplied) There is also a binder with helpful information about the area and great suggestions. You can’t possibly get any closer to Glacier National Park without actually staying in the park. West Glacier Village is at the end of the driveway – putt-putt, mercantile, gas, shops and restaurant.
We rode the supplied beach cruisers into Apgar Village and enjoyed Lake McDonald. You can rent paddle boards, single and double kayaks, row boats and small motorized boats. We did this without reservation in August. The water here is gorgeous and worth getting out on. The river behind the house is also crystal clear, and you can take a dip here or up the road near the original entrance to the park – that is now a pedestrian bridge.
The park itself is mind blowing. We were a short 10-15 minute drive to Apgar/Lake McDonald – around 20-30 minutes from Avalanche Lake Trail/Trail of the Cedars – and a little over an hour to Logan Pass. This is all traffic dependent. We chose to hit the park early (between 6-7 ). Our favorite hike was the Highline Trail. Only complaint is that we didn’t stay long enough.

Caitlyn has thought of all the possible amenities from the fire pit and high end Weber gas grill outside, to the kitchen utensils, coffee bean grinder, and quality sheets and towels inside. We were 3 couples and the house accommodated us nicely.
She went the extra mile to be helpful….We were unaware that you needed a pass to get into Glacier Park. She reached out before our trip and let us know in advance, which allowed us to have the pass necessary to enter the park.

River Haus is at a perfect location for a stay in West Glacier! The little village was so cute and had everything we needed during our stay within walking distance; cafe, market, bar, shops, ice-cream/coffee shop, and even Putt-Putt Golf. The access to Going the Sun Road West Entrance was awesome!
The house was perfect for our family of 7. We had lots of room to spread out. Caitlin went above and beyond anything we could have asked for. Everything was very clean and she had all the amenities we could have needed. The soap/shampoo dispensers in the bathroom were an unexpected treat. There was firewood for the fire pit, coffee/filters for the coffee maker, bear spray, yeti cooler, laundry detergent, and she even stocked the fridge with a few local favorite beverages for us to try. Caitlin bought a new air mattress and dropped it off on the porch when the one my nephew was sleeping on sprung a leak in the middle of our stay!
Caitlyn was also very helpful from the beginning, available at all times whenever I had any questions. She offered great suggestions on activities and restaurants. I️ would 100% recommend a stay here. Thank you so very much for hosting our family!! I wish I could give this rental 10 STARS!

If you have the opportunity to stay here, book it now! This home is magical. The location is incredible- you are literally steps from the West Glacier entrance of the park and overlook the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. The home, styling, bedding, bath products, backyard, are all incredible and Caitlin is the BEST host. She was really helpful with advice even before our trip as it was our first time to the park, and left very thoughtful welcome treats when we arrived. They had bear spray available for us to use on our hikes so we didn’t have to buy or rent any. They have a really helpful guidebook they put together with local recommendations for hikes, activities and food. We cooked at home many nights (the kitchen has everything you need) but went to two of the restaurants on their recommendation list and they were delicious. The Beltran was our favorite and within walking distance. We walked across the street for a little ice cream treat a few nights and took advantage of the whitewater rafting company that is right there- seeing as the river was in our backyard. Everything you need- including a bike rental place is so close – if you’re coming during the early season – would definitely recommend biking the Going to the Sun Road while cars aren’t on it. We went to the neighboring town of Columbia Falls for a big grocery run right when we arrived and went there to the Farmer’s market one night- Caitlin also included those on her list. The fire pit is heaven at night after a long day of hiking and the beds were sooooo comfortable. They have board games and outdoor games too. Really can’t say enough wonderful things about this space. Hope I get the chance to stay here again!

We adored our stay for a long weekend. We stayed at the end of October, so the weather was cold and wet and the GTSR was closed, but we had a great time enjoying the quiet as well as the river in the back yard.
The house had plenty of parking (4 spots) and the rooms were spacious for 6 people. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. Caitlin provided games, books, maps, and sample itineraries for your visit.
Caitlin was also such a wonderful host and helped us identify the shops that were still open for the winter season and made the check-in process super easy. We are very excited to come back in the summer!!
